It's been a week to remember for Liverpool's Scottish contingent. Teenage winger Ben Doak earned rave reviews on Friday after dazzling in a player-of-the-match display in Scotland's home victory over Croatia before veteran left-back Andy Robertson headed in their winner in Poland last night.

And with the January transfer window now getting closer, Arne Slot could now be set to add another Scot to his ranks, if reports are to be believed.

As according to the Mail, Liverpool could join Celtic and Rangers in the bidding war for teenage Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller, who has been priced at £4million by the Scottish Premiership club.

Lauded as a generational talent, the wonderkid captained Motherwell at Hampden Park in their recent Scottish League Cup semi-final tie against Rangers, despite only turning 18 in August.

Miller has started every match for the Well this season, scoring four goals. He was also named Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for September.

Despite facing calls to give the starlet a first senior international call-up this month, Scotland boss Steve Clarke instead called for patience, allowing Miller to captain the under-19 side.

Clarke said: "He’s another young one that everybody wants to hype and push. It’s important to let young players grow. Let’s just allow Lennon a little bit of time and space to grow up at Motherwell."

Miller is blessed with wonderful technique and maturity beyond his years. He has been his side’s key player this campaign, helping them to fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table, just three points behind Rangers.

Miller made his debut for Motherwell in 2022, just two days after turning 16. His manager, Stuart Kettlewell, recently said that the decision to hand him the armband was an “easy one.”

"He's maybe not the loudest voice in there, but his level of performance I believe leads other players," Kettlewell said. "I believe at times some of what he does on a football pitch can be an inspiration to others, even at that young tender age.

"When asking that question of Lennon, you guys won't be surprised to learn that he shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Yeah, no problem at all’."

A £4m sale would represent a club-record fee for Motherwell but with multiple suitors in the race, Miller’s price tag could rise even higher.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the club's CEO Kyrk Macmillan admitted that their prized asset could be on his way out of Fir Park, also heaping more praise on the youngster.

Macmillan said: "I think Lennon has done incredibly well since he came into the first team. Obviously, he's now captained the club over the last couple of matches and did it at Hampden as well for the semi-final.

“I think ultimately, it's about Lennon's growth journey and we want him to stay at Motherwell as long as possible. It's great watching him every Saturday, he gets supporters excited.

"There may come a time where Lennon decides, 'I want to try something new', but ultimately, we want to make his time at Motherwell as successful as it can be and that is who we are as a football club.”
