Liam Fox to get new Hearts deal after snubbing Hibs assistant manager interest

Liam Fox is to be rewarded with a new Hearts contract after snubbing interest from Hibs, according to a report.

New Hibees manager David Gray quickly identified the Jambos B team boss as the man he wanted by his side after being handed his first job in management. But it was then reported he had failed in his bid to lure the 40-year-old across the capital divide as Fox rejected the offer.

It is now being claimed by the Daily Record that the Tynecastle club were so keen to keep the highly-rated young coach, a boyhood Jambo, they offered him a new deal. He will carry on leading the B team in the Lowland League but Steven Naismith had him involved with the first team at the end of last season.

Gray will need to turn his attentions elsewhere but is targeting former Hibee Liam Craig as a first team coach and Aberdeen goalkeeping coach Craig Samson.

Meanwhile, the same publication reports that Hearts have secured the signing of goalkeeper Ryan Fulton from Hamilton Accies, to act as back-up to Craig Gordon and Zander Clark. It's believed that and the pre-contract signings of Yan Dhanda, James Penrice and Blair Spittal will be announced later this month.
