“From the moment I passed through the door at this club, I realised the significance of Espanyol, and not only in Spanish football,” Aguirre stated to reporters this week.
“From the first note I was in good hands. The president has always answered the phone and I have spoken every day with [sporting director] Oscar [Perarnau], there was no doubt that I would continue.
