Various reports in the Netherlands, including from the respected Voetbal International, claim that Ajax inserted a sell-clause when they sold Suarez to Liverpool in 2011.
The percentage is confidential but is believed to be around five per cent.
With claims the fee could be as high as £80m that could see the Dutch champions earn around £4m from the deal.
Ajax signed Suarez from Groningen in 2007 for €7.5m before selling him to Liverpool for €26.5m (£22.8m) in January 2011.
Suarez was a big hit in Amsterdam scoring 111 goals in 159 games and twice winning the club's player-of-the-season award.
Suarez is said to be waiting by the phone for his agent to confirm his move to Spain is done, although Barca aren’t happy at the alleged leaks from the Liverpool camp over the negotiations.
They believe that Liverpool are trying to push up the price by sharing details of the talks and the proposed transfer with the media.
Suarez is said to be ‘verbally committed’ to moving to Barca, which is working in Barca’s favour as they attempt to come to an agreement with the Merseyside club.
On Thursday, the Uruguay forward received something of a reprieve from FIFA after it was revealed he would be allowed to train with his club - whoever that may be - during the time he is banned for biting Giorgio Chiellini.
It was also confirmed that Suarez is free to transfer from one club to another despite being banned for four months from all football activity.
