Higuain Sr played down suggestions that personal terms, worth a reported £130,000-per week, have already been agreed, but said the two parties are close to reaching a deal.

Arsenal are ready to pay a club record fee in the region of £22 million for the Real Madrid striker, who is also coveted by the Serie A champions.
