Aragones passed away at the age of 75 on Saturday and has been lauded for his achievements in the game, most notably winning Euro 2008 with Spain.

He also coached Barcelona in his storied career and Guardiola proclaimed Aragones’ human qualities as well as what he brought to football.

“He was the genius we all wanted,” the Bayern Munich boss said.

“Aragones made the impossible possible.

“He changed the mindset of a country just by changing the generation.

“He managed the entire nation so we thought that not only we could win, but we should do and not settle for anything less, just the opposite and go for more.

“That and his humanity was a genius we all wanted.”
