The report adds that an email was sent to Jorge Messi, the forward’s father and agent, containing the proposal.

AS also claims that the proposal will be denied by Barca and came when contract talks between the club and the player’s camp were at their most fraught.

Messi had also raised the ire of some of his teammates, it is said, and was accused of not running enough and only running when he felt like it.

Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City were the interested parties while Real Madrid also expressed an interest, the report alleges.
