Los Rojiblancos finished with a clean sheet courtesy of the strong play of the team's defence and goalkeeper Andrés Palop, who finished with one save.

But there was little else of consolation as the visiting side picked up the point they came for on an evening of much huffing and puffing without any finished product.

Sevilla v Levante match data

Sevilla had 13 tackles, six blocked shots and 38 total clearances in support. Babá made his mark on the match after coming on for Antonio Luna in the 75th minute, as he slammed in two shots. The four attempts by Álvaro Negredo was the most of any Sevilla player. The combination of Gary Medel and Jesús Navas was a constant threat without providing a finish.

Los Granotes attempted just three shots, with only one on target. Levante generated few opportunities.

Their attack was controlled with ease and no player had more than one shot. Gustavo Munúa stopped five shots. Míchel was brought on to replace Pape Diop in the 74th minute when the latter went down with an injury.

Medel was the driving force behind Los Rojiblancos's play, and completed 88 passes over the course of the match. He spent most of his time distributing the ball in the right side of the pitch and also attempted four shots.

Sevilla finished the first half having controlled the ball for 71.2%, with Los Granotes at 28.8%, but the two teams went into half level. Both sides had eight shots in the first half, and Sevilla fired in two attempts on goal compared to one by Levante.

Nervionenses are in seventh place with a record of four wins, three losses and three draws. Levante now sit in fifth in the table with a record of five wins, three losses and two draws.
