The Basque clubs were known to have been in negotiations for a transfer, but seen as struggling to agree a price, with the 27-year-old having entered the final year of his contract.
However, it is understood that an agreement has now been reached, with AS reporting that Osasuna President Miguel Archanco has indicated that it is set at an initial €4m (£3.4m) fee, with add-on clauses amounting to a further payment, thought to total as much as €1m (£850,000).
Like Mikel Balenziaga, Xabi Etxeita and Benat Etxebarria, who have all arrived at Athletic this summer, Sola’s move will also be a return to the club, having developed as a youth there a decade ago.
