The Blaugrana have been on the lookout for a new centre-back all summer following last year’s injury crisis at the back.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva has been a consistent target for speculation, but the 24-year-old’s representative has insisted that the new Camp Nou Coach is keen on the Argentina international.

“Martino really likes Santiago,” Claudio Curti told todomercadoweb. “As well as being a great player, he’s also a terrific person.

“We’ll see what Barcelona need. There hasn’t been any contact yet.

“We’ll see what happens in the coming days.”

Manchester United boss David Moyes has once again reiterated his desire to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Premier League champions have had two separate bids for the Blaugrana man rejected over the past few weeks.

But the Old Trafford Coach has claimed he won’t give up on his pursuit of the Spain international, despite the Camp Nou side insisting he is not for sale.

“We’ll fight for Cesc,” he told a Press conference.

“We will look at what has been said and think about what to do. We will consider our options.”

Angel Di Maria is desperate to stay at Real Madrid, despite rumours that he could be used as part of the Gareth Bale deal.

Marca have suggested this afternoon that Spurs could ask for the wide-man as a direct replacement for their Wales international, as he moves closer to a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

But the Madrid-based newspaper has claimed that the Argentine winger does not want to leave Los Blancos, and is happy to fight for his place in the starting XI.

Di Maria has been wildly inconsistent since joining from Benfica back in 2010, and was used sparingly by Jose Mourinho last term, starting 22 League games.

Napoli could make a move for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, according to reports in the Italian Press.

Il Mattino have claimed this afternoon that the Serie A side are tracking the progress of the Portuguese defender as a potential replacement for Juan Zuniga.

The Colombia international has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer, and Rafael Benitez’s men see the 25-year-old as his ready-made successor.

Coentrao has endured an inconsistent career at Santiago Bernabeu since he arrived from Benfica in 2011.

He could be available for a fee of around €18m.

Napoli have already captured Gonzalo Higuain, Raul Albiol and Jose Callejon from Real Madrid this summer.

Real Sociedad will hope to commence talks with Barcelona next week to discuss a possible loan deal for Jonathan Dos Santos.

The Mexican youngster has found it difficult to break into the Blaugrana starting XI since making his debut in 2009.

The 23-year-old was used sparingly by Tito Vilanova last term, playing in just three League games. And as such, Mundo Deportivo believe that La Real will hope to negotiate with the Camp Nou club.

The paper has insisted that a personal deal with Dos Santos has already been agreed, with the only obstacle now an agreement between the two teams.
