Lily Allen shares how she met Stranger Things star husband David Harbour

Lily Allen has revealed how she and her husband, Stranger Things star David Harbour, first met.

After first being spotted together in October 2019 and officially confirming their relationship on social media later that month, the couple tied the knot just over a year later in Las Vegas.

During a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Allen opened up about their relationship and revealed that she met Harbour on Raya, an exclusive dating app where membership has to be approved.

"It was the first time I'd been on this dating app. I was scrolling through and landed on David's profile and pressed accept," she recalled.

"I didn't know who he was. I thought he was just like a sexy policeman from a reality TV show because he was wearing a policeman's uniform. It was a still from Stranger Things. I'd never seen Stranger Things."

Allen continued: "I don't even know what I was looking for. It was just something to do on holiday, swiping, it's a bit of fun.

"When I met him I didn’t think it was going to go anywhere. He was here filming Black Widow. He was only going to be here for a couple of months. And then it did [go somewhere]."

Allen described their attraction as "pretty instant", adding: "He was sitting underneath a clock. It was a bit like that moment in Titanic, where [Jack] turns around under the clock."

Harbour, who will reprise his role as Jim Hopper for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, previously opened up about his marriage to Allen and said that he had "never met someone who is so deeply kind as her".

"I've never felt so taken care of and cared for by another human being," he added. "She really is just a deeply kind individual and I love that about her."

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
