England Lions will embark on a one-month tour of Australia next February in preparation for next year's twin Ashes series.
The Lions will meet Australia A in a five-match limited overs series after beginning the tour with three warm-up games against the Victorians.
Cricket Australia have announced the itinerary which will run at the same time as the national team embark on a limited-overs series across the Tasman Sea in New Zealand.
After meeting the Victorians in matches at the MCG and Junction Oval in Melbourne, the first three one-day matches will be played in Hobart from February 16 before the series is completed in Sydney.
The matches will also provide England's players on the edge of selection with the chance to test themselves in conditions Down Under ahead of a busy 2013 schedule.
Most prominent on the fixture list for the senior team are the two Ashes series, with England hosting Australia next summer before immediately recommencing their battle in the Antipodes.
"In addition to a massive summer of international cricket, fans will also get an early look at what the English might throw up in the Ashes when their England Lions team tours here in February," CA chief executive officer James Sutherland said.
"While the Australian team will be in India for four important Tests for the Border/Gavaskar Trophy, those on the cusp of national representation will be able to test their mettle against England's next best and cricket fans get an early taste of that Ashes rivalry."
