MILLWALL fans are planning a tribute to West Ham fan Isla Caton after the seven-year-old died following a long battle with illness.

Having been diagnosed with neuroblastoma – a rare form of child cancer – players, supporters and staff rallied around the Caton family.

Collections at the London Stadium and donations from the likes of joint-chairman David Sullivan helped in providing treatments to battle the disease.

Isla was a mascot for West Ham’s Premier League game at home to Bournemouth in January 2018.

She was later named in the West Ham squad for their Boxing Day fixture against Southampton by which time – having been declared cancer-free in 2019 – the illness had returned and she died on the morning of January 25.

There are now Lions fans planning a minutes applause in the 7th minute during their Championship fixture against West Brom on Saturday.

Charlie Wallace wrote on Twitter: "This is so heartbreaking hearing about little Isla Caton passing away today.

"On the 7th minute on Saturday, Millwall can we please do a minute applause for this little princess and show cancer has no colours."

The tweet has received loads of support from fans and has nearly 500 likes at the time of writing.

The official Twitter account for Millwall posted a message that read: "Everyone at Millwall sends their love to the Caton family at this incredibly sad time.

"Rest in peace, Isla."

The clubs have traditionally shared an intense rivalry which was started as the Dockers derby, as both sets of supporters were predominantly dockers at shipyards on either side of the River Thames.
