A Little Movement! - Swans Transfer Gossip

Although the transfer window is in full flow, the Swansea rumours have actually dried up a little - although we are starting to see some concrete moves, both in recruiting and shifting some players.

Starting with those leaving the club - at least temporarily - and Kyle Bartley will be joining former Swans boss Garry Monk on a season-long loan in the Championship at Leeds United. Monk obviously sees something in Bartley that the rest of us can’t, as he was an all round flop at Swansea last season. Good luck to him.

As for new recruits, it’s looking likely that Leroy Fer will be joining the club from QPR on a permanent basis. He had flashes of potential last season, although probably didn’t have the game time he wanted/deserved. Perhaps if Swansea splash out the £4.5 million fee we’ll see a little more of him next season.

Another signing that looks set to come off is the Dutch centre back Mike van der Hoorn, after the club were reported to have agreed a deal with Ajax (in the area of around £2 million). This looks to be a great capture for the Swans, and - with Bartley gone - is likely to push for a starting spot alongside Ashley Williams in the centre.

As for rumours with little substance, we’ve not had many this week, but - with Francesco Guidolin at the helm - we are still hearing of some links with Serie A players, including Juventus defensive midfielder Mauricio Isla, who is leaving the Italian giants this summer.

He’s nippy, hardworking, very versatile and just won the Copa America with Chile, so would certainly bring a boost to the club. While teams like Lazio and Bestikas are also reportedly interested, Isla worked under Guidolin at Udinese so maybe we have the advantage.

Finally there’s talk of Swansea after £7 million target, Miller Bolaños - an Ecuadorian international who currently plays for Brazilian club Grêmio. The 26-year-old striker has been with Gremio since February, but has only played a handful of matches due to a facial injury.

I’ve not seen much of him, but he has a good eye for goal and is capable of scoring a few screamers. He netted 44 goals in 76 matches for his previous team Emelec, which proves he’d not just there to make up the numbers. Maybe Jefferson Montero could put in a word?
