Arne Slot's reign as Liverpool's new head coach has officially begun and he will already have an eye on his first fixture in charge.

The 2024/25 Premier League fixtures are due to be announced later this month, as Slot looks to enjoy a successful first campaign in charge. Jurgen Klopp has officially departed Anfield after nearly nine years as manager and was spotted at Wembley Stadium on Saturday for the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Slot will be tasked with preparing Liverpool for the season ahead that will see the Reds look to challenge in the Premier League and Champions League. Part of that will involve looking at potential new signings while also assessing the squad during pre-season.

Liverpool will travel to the United States for three pre-season friendlies this summer, starting in July. The Reds will face Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Betis across the Atlantic in the final weeks of Slot's preparations for the new season.

The Reds will face Real Betis at Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, on July 26. That is one of two fixtures that Liverpool will play at an NFL stadium this summer as part of their pre-season preparations.

The second pre-season friendly will see Liverpool take on Arsenal at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on July 31. The stadium hosts the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL and will be the first time that Reds fans get to see Slot's impact on the team on the pitch.

It remains to be seen if any new signings will be made before that fixture in Philadelphia in late July. Liverpool will then travel to face Man United at the Williams-Brice Stadium in South Carolina on August 3 to conclude their USA pre-season campaign.

The Reds used a similar USA tour to set down a marker during Klopp's time in charge, when they beat Man Utd, who like Arsenal had finished second the previous year, 4-1 in a stunning performance in front of 101,000 supporters as the 'Big House' in Michigan.

They had previously beat champions Man City 2-1 at the MetLife Stadium with a late winner from Sadio Mane, before going on to run Pep Guardiola's side close in the battle for the Premier League title in the following campaign.

And Slot will hope to have a similar effect when his side take on Arsenal and United this summer.

Liverpool do not yet know what their opening fixture will be in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season. The new campaign gets underway in the weekend of August 17-18, while there is also the possibility of either Friday or Monday night matches being scheduled across the weekend as part of the television coverage.
