Liverpool discovers Kylian Mbappe fate as Real Madrid injury update given
Liverpool has received a potential boost ahead of its Champions League clash with Real Madrid following news of Kylian Mbappe's latest injury.
The Reds take on the reigning champion at Anfield on Wednesday, November 27 in their fifth fixture of the newly revamped league phase and will be hoping to secure their first victory over the Spanish giants in eight attempts dating back to March 2009.
In fact, Liverpool has avoided defeat in just one of its last seven fixtures against Los Blancos and must still play Bologna, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen before welcoming Carlo Ancelotti's outfit to Merseyside in two months' time, where it will have hoped to have accumulated a sufficient amount of points by then.

But before a ball has even been kicked, Arne Slot's side could be preparing to face a Real Madrid side without its major summer signing in the starting lineup when it comes to town in November, having witnessed Mbappe limp off in the 80th minute of Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Frenchman had netted his side's second goal of the evening in the 40th minute but was left complaining of discomfort in his left leg towards the latter stages of the match, and requested to come off "to avoid any problems," according to Ancelotti.
The former Chelsea and Everton boss described it as a "knock" after the match but ESPN has now claimed that Mbappe is expected to be out for at least three weeks with a thigh injury.
It comes shortly after Real Madrid confirmed the 25-year-old had suffered an injury setback. "Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg," a club statement read.
While it's claimed Mbappe should be fit and firing again by the time Real Madrid visit Anfield in November, there is no guarantee the former Paris Saint-Germain star will be up to the required speed by that point. Furthermore, there could be setbacks in his recovery that keeps him out for longer.
As for now, Mbappe is definitely out of Sunday's Madrid derby with Atletico at the Metropolitano Stadium - a fixture in which the La Liga champions have won just once in their last five attempts. Mbappe had also just started to hit form in the league, scoring five goals in his last four games.
