Liverpool fans make their feelings clear on Martin Zubimendi transfer after 'regret'
Liverpool's supporters have been reacting to reports that Martin Zubimendi is regretting his decision to turn down a move to Anfield during the summer transfer window.
The Reds made Spain international Zubimendi their top midfield target and were confident of getting a deal done during August, but the 25-year-old turned his back on a move, opting to remain in San Sebastian.
Now, though, Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo reports that Zubimendi has asked Liverpool to try and sign him again during the January transfer window.

Martin Zubimendi 'regrets' Liverpool snub and now wants January move to Anfield
Zubimendi's reported U-turn is said to have been influenced by Sociedad's disappointing start to the season, with the Basque club sitting in 16th place in La Liga after winning just one of its first six games.
Unsurprisingly, the news of Zubimendi's change of heart has provoked a reaction from plenty of Liverpool supporters. One wrote: "If we sign Zubimendi, you can almost guarantee that he'll get homesick and want to go crawling back to Sociedad within a couple of seasons. He had his chance this summer and he blew it. I only want players who would bite your hand off to play for us."
Another added: "We have Endo and Gravenberch who can play as a 6 so we really don't need Zubimendi, he made his choice and he shouldn't be allowed to go back on it."
However, plenty of fans see the situation in a different light and would still welcome Zubimendi at Anfield. One said: "Not sure why people acting like Zubimendi won’t improve us. If we can get him in January, why not? People are acting like it’s super easy to uproot your life and start afresh elsewhere." Another added: "We laugh at it now but I would still do it personally on one condition... it's done really quickly and no p------ about by him and his camp anymore."
