Liverpool fans react as Darwin Nunez scores sublime goal against Bournemouth
Liverpool fans could hardly contain themselves after Darwin Nunez scored a sublime goal to put the Reds 3-0 up against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Uruguayan had been thrust straight into Arne Slot's starting lineup for the visit of the Cherries, marking his first start of the season after being restricted to a place on the bench in the last five games in all competitions.
It's meant Nunez, who failed to even appear in the opening day victory over Ipswich Town, has been afforded less than 20 minutes of action against Brentford and Manchester United, before managing slightly more against Nottingham Forest last weekend and then AC Milan in midweek.

But today marked a chance to finally prove himself from the off - and he wasted no time in doing so. After starting the game in positive fashion, Nunez then fully announced himself to the Anfield crowd with a stunning solo effort to add to Liverpool's 2-0 lead during the first-half.
Picking the ball up on the right-hand side of the pitch, the 25-year-old continued his run into the opposition box, where he cut inside his man and unleashed a thunderous strike with his weaker left foot into the far corner of the Bournemouth goal.
Not only did those inside the stadium go wild, but so did those watching from around the world as Nunez was showered with praise for a remarkable strike. One person on X (formerly Twitter) could hardly contain their shock, writing: "Darwin Nunez! Take a bow son!"
A second added: "Darwin Nunez is back!", while a third chimed: "That Nunez goal was Salah-esque!". Another said: "Oh my God what a goal from Nunez".
But it didn't end there, with some even praising the former Benfica star for taking his chance to impress, while others claimed he deserves to start more often after reminding everyone of just what he can do.
"Darwin Nunez oozes quality even when he's missing some clear chances. Never doubted him for once. Maybe a change of environment will do him good," one wrote. Another person added: "What a goal from Darwin Nunez. Absolutely deserving of the start."
Some were even insistent that Nunez deserves to start ahead of his Diogo Jota in future games. One social media user wrote: "Nunez simply offers so much more than Jota, goal aside the defensive work rate, the fear he puts into defenders due to his pace and strength, the intelligence he shows with his movement. He has shown more in this game to deserve a run of games than Jota has this season."
