The upheaval at Liverpool is continuing with another exit confirmed, and one influential figure who recently resigned could be heading to Man Utd, per reports.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United have been put up for sale by their respective American owners. While the Glazer family are intent on securing a complete sale of United, the Boston Globe recently reported the situation at Anfield has changed.

A partial sale is now deemed the likeliest outcome. What that means for Jurgen Klopp’s transfer chances – including for Jude Bellingham – has been detailed here.

Regardless, change has been occurring within Liverpool’s ranks outside of the boardroom.

Sporting Director Julian Ward was recently confirmed to have resigned his post. Ward only assumed the role last summer upon succeeding the much heralded Michael Edwards.

Ward is understood to be seeking a break from football and does not have another club lined up.

That news was quickly followed by the departure of the club’s Head of Research, Ian Graham.

Graham led the data analysis team in the recruitment department and was tasked with finding value in the market. He worked closely with both Edwards and Ward, though resigned in June and is currently serving out his notice period.

Another exit has since come to light, that of Jack Ade.

Ade has joined up with new Rangers manager Michael Beale at Ibrox. A Rangers statement read: “Rangers have made a further addition to the first-team support staff with Jack Ade joining from Liverpool as Head of Performance.

“Ade had been performing the role of head of elite fitness development and Under-21 fitness coach at the Merseyside club, while he also has previous experience at Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Barnet and Watford.”

Liverpool pair heading to Man Utd?

While Ade has moved north of the border, Football Insider report Graham may land closer to home – at Manchester United.

The online outlet state Liverpool ‘fear’ the head of research is potentially quitting with a view to joining Man Utd.

Michael Edwards too has been linked with assuming a role at Old Trafford and the pair worked wonders for Klopp in their respective roles in the recruitment team.

The report states United are ‘well placed’ to secure an agreement with Edwards, and Graham could sign up too.

All three of Edwards, Ward and Graham have been critical figures in making FSG’s break-even transfer policy work.

Liverpool fans always clamoured for Edwards to be given more funds. Indeed, if he could work wonders on a shoe-string budget, what was he capable of with vast wealth?

Unfortunately for Reds fans, they may soon find out when peering over at Old Trafford.
