Liverpool Feds secure vital funding as new shirt sponsor revealed
Liverpool Feds debuted a new shirt sponsor against Wolverhampton Wanderers WFC after Merseyside based sports marketing firm, Creative Players, provided essential funding for the club.
The agency, which is based on the Royal Albert Dock, has committed several thousand pounds worth of funding to the Feds, for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, after a proposed private investment partner stalled. In exchange for the funding, the agency becomes the club’s main shirt sponsor.
Creative Players already sponsored the Liverpool Feds, in 2022 they agreed to cover the annual costs of the Feds’ gym access for a three year period. As part of the partnership between the agency and the club, Creative Players produced a documentary focusing on the 2022/23 season.
Leigh Moore, founder of Creative Players said: “Supporting women’s football has been integral to my own career and the heritage of Creative Players where we’ve worked extensively in the women’s game.
“Having worked closely with Feds over several years, we wanted to help the club because I believe in the need for a strong football pyramid and the impact clubs can have on their community.”
The Feds play in the third tier of the women’s game, they focus on developing homegrown players and provide a club for young players to go out on loan to gain first team experience.
Moore added: “In my opinion, the future of the women’s game depends on clubs like Feds as much as it does the elite teams. They are literally the future of the game.”
Speaking on the importance of funding for grassroots clubs, Liverpool Feds General Manger Abby Pope said: “In a time when financial challenges have made it harder for grassroots clubs like ours to thrive, their partnership is not only a vital source of funding, but a testament to their dedication to the local community and the future of the sport.
“This partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it’s a lifeline that helps us maintain the quality of training, equipment, and facilities that are essential for our team.
“As a club, we are proud to wear their name on our shirts, knowing that their support is helping shape the future of our football club.
Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant football community, and we cannot thank Creative Players enough for their ongoing partnership.”
