Taylor Swift's three appearances at Anfield this summer proved particularly lucrative for the city of Liverpool, generating millions of pounds for the local economy.

The pop star is the latest act to grace the iconic football stadium in recent years, with seven acts having performed a total of 11 concerts there since 2019.

The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Take That, Elton John, The Eagles and P!nk are the six other acts to have put on shows at Anfield over the last five years.

A BBC report said that 1,450 staff were required for each of the 11 gigs and that 85 per cent of those employed for Anfield concerts were from Liverpool, boosting the local economy by over £31m ($41m).

Liverpool's chief commercial officer Ben Latty told the Liverpool Echo last month: "I actually think [it's] a responsibility...to try and bring these, 'Class A', should we say, acts to the city of Liverpool and continue to make Liverpool famous for what it is famous for, which is music and being sort of the centre of entertainment certainly in the UK, perhaps even in Europe.

"[This summer] was hugely successful. It's been something that's been a long time planning. These things don't happen overnight. It is sort of 12 months out when you start having conversations."

Meanwhile, councillor Harry Doyle said the redevelopment that the stadium has undergone in recent years had been "a huge success for the club and the city".

The expansion of the main stand, which was completed in 2016, and the expansion of the Anfield Road End, which was completed earlier this year, took Anfield's capacity from just over 40,000 to over 61,000.

Dua Lipa is the next big act scheduled to appear at Anfield, with the London-born singer performing there in summer 2025 as part of her Radical Optimism Tour..
