Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given the club his blessing to pursue deals to sign three top midfield targets  – and a report claims there is a growing confidence at Anfield that agreements can be reached for the trio.

The Reds have struggled to maintain their own usual high standards this season. There have been flashes of their brilliance, most notably a 7-0 win over Manchester United and a 6-1 trouncing at Leeds. But those have been few and far between this season and they currently look set to qualify in the Europa League positions only.

Furthermore, they will also finish the season without any silverware. And for a team that fell just a few games short of the Quadruple last season, the 2022/23 campaign will not go down well in memory.

However, Klopp is well aware that his side needs major surgery this summer. And the main focus of his priority will be in midfield after seeing his side regularly overrun in that department this season.

And with four midfield options due to leave Anfield when the current campaign ends, Klopp is ready to spend big to freshen up that department.

Indeed, the first of those in James Milner has already agreed his next move having been ‘blown away’ by his next employers.

He will soon be followed out the door by Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The duo will leave Anfield as free agents with neither fulfilling their potential during injury-ravaged spells on Merseyside.

And a fourth option will also depart once the season concludes in Arthur Melo. The Brazilian though has been an absolute disaster of a signing, with Liverpool 100% ruling out the option in his loan to sign him permanently.

However, good news could soon be around the corner for Klopp.

And while he has missed out on long-term target Jude Bellingham, deals for three other top targets are starting to gather serious pace.

Indeed, Liverpool are now reportedly working on deals for Mason Mount, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are confident of sealing the signings of all three by early July.

Mount has long been a target of Klopp following news he’s unlikely to renew his deal at Chelsea. That contract is currently due to expire in summer 2024 and talks over a renewal have hit the skids.

And having spend in excess of £500m since taking charge at Stamford Bridge, Todd Boehly is reportedly willing to sanction his sale.

Any deal though will hit Liverpool hard in the pocket with Chelsea ready to demand £70m.

However, that is a price the Reds are seemingly willing to meet. And the England star will reportedly link up at Anfield with another Premier League star in Mac Allister.

New-look Liverpool midfield

The Brighton man is enjoying an outstanding season, scoring 11 times, including a crucial late-winner against Manchester United.

He has also won the World Cup with Argentina, underlining his very obvious qualities. But now a move to Anfield is gathering pace. Klopp was giving little away when questioned about a reported £70m swoop Mac Allister.

Liverpool are also confident over a third midfield coup in the form of Bayern star Gravenberch. He has found game-time hard since leaving Ajax last summer and the German champions are ready to cash in.

He will reportedly leave for just £25m – offering Bayern a slight profit on their initial investment.

The 20-year-old had hoped a change of manager in Bavaria would afford him new opportunities. However, new manager Thomas Tuchel will not stand in his way and will seemingly agree to his sale this summer.

Deals for all three players will set Liverpool back a combined £165m, per reports.

The new-look Liverpool midfield will give Klopp a dynamic new thrust for next season. It will also offer a key injection of talent in an area that has badly been lacking this season.
