Liverpool handed Alexis Mac Allister blow as midfielder hit with suspension
Alexis Mac Allister is set to miss Liverpool's next match in the Champions League after starring against Real Madrid. The Argentina international opened the scoring in the 2-0 win at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Cody Gakpo was also on the score sheet for Liverpool, helping to secure the three points as the Reds moved back to the top of the league phase standings. The victory also moved Liverpool closer to securing a spot in the top eight of the competition which would book their place in the last-16 and skip past the play-off round.
Arne Slot's side still have three Champions League fixtures left to play in the league phase this season. Lille have to come to Anfield, while Liverpool have away trips to Girona and PSV Eindhoven.

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to Spain as the Reds face Girona on December 10. However, Mac Allister will not be available for the game meaning Slot will be forced to make at least one change.
Mac Allister picked up a yellow card in the win over Madrid which took his total in the Champions League this season to three. That means the Argentina international will serve a one-match suspension, meaning he will miss the trip to Girona but will return for the clash against Lille on January 21.
With Mac Allister unavailable for the clash against Girona, Slot will have to choose from Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo and Tyler Morton for the trip to Spain.
Mac Allister also has four yellow cards in the Premier League, meaning one more booking will result in a one-game ban in the top flight, too.
