Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher calls out Aston Villa star for ignoring Champions League tradition
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had a warning for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran ahead of his side's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Villa has enjoyed a remarkable rise under Unai Emery and welcomed Bayern to Villa Park on Wednesday night, having thrashed Young Boys in the opening match of the new league phase in Switzerland last month.
The home side was given a raucous welcome as they made their way onto the pitch for the pre-match warm-up. But as the players came out of the tunnel, substitute Duran decided to get his hands on the famous Champions League trophy.

The Villa striker was encouraged by Jacob Ramsey to lift the trophy aloft before opting to touch the handles, much to the delight of his teammates. But Carragher wasn't impressed as he previewed the match for CBS Sports.
"You can't do that! You can't touch it until you have won it, " Carragher said. The Reds legend was part of the team that won the competition in 2005, edging out AC Milan after a thrilling final in Istanbul.
He was instrumental in the comeback, making an incredible block to deny Andriy Shevchenko in the closing stages of the match. Carragher was also in the side as Milan got revenge on Liverpool two years later.
Liverpool also returned to Champions League action on Wednesday night as Arne Slot took charge of his first European match at Anfield. The Reds beat Milan at the San Siro in the first round of fixtures and took on Italian side Bologna.
Speaking ahead of the match, Arne Slot said: "When I joined Liverpool I knew all about the club's history in Europe – the great moments, the great games, the success and so on – but I am also aware that everything that has been achieved has come through hard work, desire and ability. Nothing has ever been given to Liverpool. It has always been earned.
"The new Champions League structure is still settling and it will only be in time that we fully understand the differences it will make, but one thing we know for sure already is that we will have to win as many games as possible against teams who have the very same objective."
