Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Ajax right-back Devyne Rensch. The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most talented young defenders in Europe due to his performances over the last couple of years.

Rensch, described as a 'typical product of the Ajax youth system', made his first-team debut in November 2020 aged just 17. He made 27 appearances during his breakthrough season and established himself as a key part of Erik ten Hag's successful side that won back-to-back Eredivisie titles.

Since Ten Hag's departure in May 2022, Rensch has continued to be a mainstay in the Ajax side and has played 147 times for his boyhood club. Rensch has also been capped twice by the Netherlands and is destined for a bright future in the game both at club and international level.

Now, there has been talk that Rensch could leave Ajax. According to Spanish publication SPORT, Liverpool are among those keen to sign the right-back. The Reds might be in the market to sign a new right-sided defender next summer if Trent Alexander-Arnold decides to leave at the end of his contract.

And Rensch is someone that Liverpool are said to be 'after'. The former VV Unicum prodigy is a player who is comfortable on the ball, very fast both in and out of possession and impressive going forward. Defensively, Rensch is also solid and doesn't have any significant weaknesses, according to whoscored.com.

Like Alexander-Arnold, Rensch is out of contract next summer and Liverpool could attempt to sign him on a pre-contract agreement in January Liverpool aren't the only team said to be interested in him, however.

Barcelona are also reportedly tracking his progress and want him to solve their issues on the right-hand side, while Tottenham are the other Premier League side said to be in the race. As well as this, Ajax have offered Rensch a new contract, described as a 'good renewal'.
