Liverpool just dropped major Trey Nyoni hint as Arne Slot selection all but confirmed
Trey Nyoni looks set to be in Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup clash against West Ham after the Reds dropped a major hint on Tuesday night.
Arne Slot had hinted earlier in the day that the 17-year-old could be involved as the Hammers visit Anfield for the third round clash on Wednesday. The Liverpool boss looks set to make a number of changes to his side, with Federico Chiesa in line to make his first start for the club, while Caoimhin Kelleher has been confirmed as starting.
Pressed on whether Nyoni would also be involved, Slot said: "Let's see first how everyone comes in this morning, and then we'll make a plan for every individual. The way I look at it now there will be a fair chance for him to be in our squad rather than the U21s."

Nyoni’s spot in Slot’s squad tomorrow now looks to have been confirmed, with the midfielder not involved for Liverpool’s U21s in their EFL Trophy clash against Harrogate. Tyler Morton was also left out of the side, suggesting he will also play a part against West Ham.
Nyoni has caught plenty of attention since making the move to Liverpool from Leicester last year. He made his senior debut for the Reds in an FA Cup tie against Southampton earlier this year, and caught the eye with his performances during pre-season, impressing during the tour of the USA before scoring against Sevilla at Anfield.
Giving his verdict on Nyoni, Slot said during his press conference on Tuesday: "He is a really young player who only just became 17 but with a lot of talent. When he played against Sevilla, he even scored a goal.
"So he is a talent but only being a talent is not enough to play on a regular basis. He needs playing time to develop and that's why sometimes you feel you might need him but you need him to play games. Training with the players we have helps him to develop. We have taken good care of him but he has already showed some good signs."
Liverpool.com says: There is plenty of excitement surrounding Nyoni at Liverpool after his showings in pre-season. Assuming he does feature against West Ham tomorrow night, it will be another step up for him, but he clearly has plenty of talent on his side. We can’t wait to see him in action again.
