Carragher replied to the fan saying:

The feud between the two former teammates has been running for several years with the Senegalese Diouf hell-bent on discrediting the legendary pair of Carragher and Steven Gerrard.

This feud seemingly began when Carragher remarked that Diouf was, “The only No 9 ever to go through a whole season without scoring,” which obviously touched a nerve with the forward.

Manchester City v Liverpool

Since then in numerous interviews Diouf has past snide comments such as calling Gerrard and "egotist" and the "he didn't care about Liverpool winning - all that mattered for him was getting on the scoresheet."

Diouf has also called Carragher a turkey, remarking that he thought the defender was 'useless':

"The person I would least want to spend Christmas with is Jamie Carragher. I hate him. He was the biggest turkey I've seen on a pitch. I found him useless."

The jibes have continued ever since and whilst Diouf seems to be on a personal vendetta against the pair, Carragher has taken things on in a jestful matter to the amusement of many Liverpool fans with a couple joining in on the banter.
