Liverpool legend makes title U-turn as he raises blunt Arsenal question
While some pundits are changing their mind about Liverpool, others are not. Take Gary Neville for example.
The Manchester United legend may have already back-tracked on his ridiculous pre-season assertion that the Reds would not finish in the top four. But Neville cannot believe they are favourites to win the title.
He said this week: "Last night I got stopped in my tracks because I was on Instagram and I saw Sky Sports post out a title probability percentage. It blew my mind actually. I was mesmerised. Liverpool 60% most likely to win the title, City 34%, Arsenal 4.9% chance. I was like there is no way that’s right.

"Arsenal at 4% and Liverpool at 60%, I just don’t feel that probability is right at this moment in time."
That's despite Arne Slot's in-form side being five points clear at the top after 11 games. No team in Premier League side has failed to go to finish first with such an advantage at this stage of the season.
That said there hasn't been a team as relentless as Manchester City, who are chasing a fifth successive top-flight crown. However, the injury sustained to midfielder Rodri has changed the mind of Neville's former United team-mate Roy Keane.
And he's not the only one. Steve Nicol, who won 10 trophies during his decorated 13-year Liverpool career, also believes the championship is now his old club's to lose.
“I would say very confident,” said Nicol, who at the start of the campaign tipped Arsenal to come top and the Reds to come third. “Part of the reason has to do with both Arsenal and Man City. They’ve got a nine-point lead over Arsenal and a five-point lead over City.
“The title is between those three and we’re not quite sure what we’re getting from Arsenal and City right now. Whereas Liverpool, we kind of know exactly what we’re getting. Everything’s settled in their house.
“The other two are just stumbling along and the longer they stumble, the harder it’s going to be. If Arsenal lose next weekend and Liverpool win, they are going to be 12 points behind.
“Do you really think you can give this Liverpool side four games of a start and you still have to get through the whole campaign winning every game? That’s why I’ve gone for them.”
Premier League action resumes next Saturday when fourth-placed Arsenal host fifth-placed Nottingham Forest and second-placed City entertain a Tottenham Hotspur side who have become their bogey team in recent years.
Liverpool then play on Sunday at Southampton, who will start the weekend in bottom place.
