Liverpool have to move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - Darwin Nunez didn't give me one thing I wanted
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a very good player. And when a very good player like him becomes available on the market, you have to be in the conversation for them. You have to be interested, Liverpool have to be interested.
Whether he fits the bill for Liverpool at the moment, I don’t know. Or whether we’ve got enough money to pay for him. But certainly, he’s a tremendous player.
Most teams would like to be linked with him and have a chance of getting him. Hopefully we’re in with a shout because, as I’ve said before, I do think we need investment in the window to solidify going for the league and all the cups.

Yes, we look well-stocked on the left-wing at the moment, but it’s future-planning. We don’t know what will happen in the future, there are question marks.
We have to think long-term. It’s next season. We have three big players out of contract and doubts about whether a couple of the forwards will still be here.
If you have any of those players going out, it would be nice to cover one at least, especially if there is no intention of signing one of the out-of-contract players. Only the club bosses and owners will have an idea about what they want to happen.
When a player of the stature of Kvaratskhelia becomes available, you have to be interested. But they also have to be the right fit.
Didn’t happen for Darwin but Endo ticks boxes
It was a good day all round for Liverpool against Accrington on Saturday. It was a comfortable win and always great to get through to the next round.
Accrington got a good pay day out of it and were well-supported. It was an early morning game so the crowd was subdued, but thankfully we didn’t need the crowd. I’m sure if we had, they would have responded.
It was all good, though I didn’t get one thing I wanted from it. I wanted Darwin Nunez to get a bit of confidence and get a goal. It’s quite ironic that he tried his heart out, had a couple of chances but missed them, and then young Danns comes on and scores with virtually his first touch!
That kind of sums it up for Nunez at the moment. But it’s all good for Liverpool. Chiesa got his goal and looked sharp. Trent scored a great goal after a difficult week and Jota got a goal too.
The strikers were all on their game, it was just that Nunez did not get the goal that he needed.
I thought Wataru Endo played a super game, just controlling the game at the back. His attitude is 100%. He’s going to be called on quite regularly during the run-in.
He does a really good job in that holding role as well. It’s good to see his comments, saying he’s happy to play anywhere. He was so happy to be captain for the end of the game too.
He ticks all the boxes. He would play anywhere you asked him to. He could play full-back if you needed him to. It’s not ideal needing him at centre-half, but he can and is doing a good job there against various sides. Players like him and Joe Gomez are invaluable to a squad when you’re trying to win the league.
The kids are alright
I do like young Jayden Danns. The reaction for his goal was brilliant, he’s a poacher with good movement. Hopefully he can become a Liverpool player for the future, being a local lad.
His movement is really good. I always look at strikers and I like his movement. I don’t like it when they stay stagnant and don’t move defenders around. You’ve always got to be on the move.
He’s a young lad and he’s got to show the manager what his value is and how good he is. He’s a worker anyway. He just moved the defenders around and created his own spaces.
But his reactions for his goal was excellent. He was expecting it to come back off the goalkeeper. BANG, it’s in the back of the net.
Rio Ngumoha looked very confident too. He has great ability. It was an ideal game to throw him in and get a feel of it.
The club have put a fair bit of money into him to develop. He’s got great ability, isn’t scared and is very confident. Let’s hope he can build and build on what he’s got. He’s got a long way to go but he’s certainly got the ability.
