Liverpool made it three straight Champions League wins as they beat RB Leipzig 1-0 at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night.

Darwin Nunez nudged home the winning goal in the first half after Mohamed Salah had nodded Kostas Tsimikas's cross back across the face. The host had earlier seen a goal ruled out for offside. Next up for the Reds in Europe's premier competition is Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield later this month.

The ECHO was at the Red Bull Arena to run the rule over proceedings. Here's how the players rated on the night.

CAOIMHIN KELLEHER 7

Second-half saves from Sesko and Simons were vital and looked like his usual confident self in possession. Liverpool are so fortunate to have a back-up goalkeeper of this quality.

TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD 6

Started sloppily but grew into things. Passing range is always capable of opening teams up but he is defending more resolutely under Slot. Replaced for Gomez.

IBRAHIMA KONATE 7

Rock solid once more. Didn't put a foot wrong alongside Van Dijk and could even be in the form of his Liverpool career so far right now.

VIRGIL VAN DIJK 7

Came close to making it 2-0 with a header that Gulacsi tipped over. Was not unduly troubled defensively. In such good form right now.

KOSTAS TSIMIKAS 6

Lost the ball twice very early on and felt Mac Allister's wrath with one short pass that put his team-mate in trouble. It was his cross to Salah that unlocked the defence for Nunez's goal, however.

RYAN GRAVENBERCH 7

Another assured performance from a player who can lay claim to being one of Europe's best central midfielders so far this term. Interception early in the second half was crucial. Always alert.

ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER 7

Less eye-catching than Gravenberch but no less important, kept things ticking over in midfield and was responsible for some important defensive work. Struck the bar with what would have a beautiful goal. Harshly booked for diving.

MOHAMED SALAH 6

Quiet by his lofty standards but did claim his seventh assist of the campaign for Nunez's goal. Subbed for Diaz on 64.

DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI 7

Content to do "the dirty job" as he labelled it in Tuesday's press conference. Buzzed about the pitch and tried to stitch things together in the final third. Such an athlete and he's becoming an increasingly important part of the system off the ball.

CODY GAKPO 7

Outside-of-the-foot cross to Nunez was sumptuous and almost brought a second goal. So clever and dangerous when he gets into his stride on that left side. Nearly smashed home what would have been a wonderful team move.

DARWIN NUNEZ 8

Always a willing runner and was keen to hold it up at times as well. Took his goal like a real poacher and came so close to a second. Should have won a penalty too. Lead the line superbly in the absence of Jota.

Subs:

LUIS DIAZ 6

On for Salah and was also quiet while stationed on that unfamiliar right side.

JOE GOMEZ 6

Important clearance late on was important and he tried to support Diaz when he could in an attacking sense.

ANDY ROBERTSON 6

Tried to show his attacking qualities when possible but was instructed to see it the game.

CURTIS JONES 6

No real opportunity to build on Sunday's stunning performance against Chelsea. Helped out to keep Leipzig at bay.
