How Liverpool players have responded to Arne Slot's changes from Jurgen Klopp
Arne Slot has left his impression on an enthusiastic Liverpool team already, just weeks into the new season and a couple of months after replacing the iconic Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
The Dutchman’s attempts to transform Klopp’s Premier League and Champions League winning squad took a knock for the first time on Saturday when the Reds suffered a major upset at home at the hands of Nottingham Forest to end the honeymoon period.
But victory in Slot’s first three games in charge, including a 3-0 win away at arch-rivals Manchester United, showed that the former Feyenoord boss has the credentials to take Liverpool forward. His task has arguably been made tougher by the lack of summer signings, with the core of the squad all loyal to Klopp.

However, he appears to have done a brilliant early job of getting the players on side, including No. 1 goalkeeper Alisson, who Liverpool were able to hold onto this summer despite rumors of a potential switch to Saudi Arabia and the incoming of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer.
Speaking about his new boss, Alisson said: “Slot has contributed with several positive things. Obviously all the players who have worked for a long time with Klopp will remember what he told us, our characteristics will be influenced by Klopp in the future.
“But the new manager has arrived with great enthusiasm, new ideas regarding football. They aren't that different from what we did in the past, but he loves ball possession, he loves to create occasions starting in the defense, starting from myself, until we arrive at the other goal. This will give us chances.
“We like to play close to each other, we like the movements the manager wants us to make and he gives us freedom to be whatever player we like to be. His staff work a lot. With his arrival, we have all been very enthusiastic and can do a good job this season.”
Alisson arrived at Anfield from Roma in 2018 and his impact has been profound as he lifted the Champions League in his first season at the club and the Premier League just 12 months later, undoubtedly paying back that price tag.
The Brazilian is still one of the best keepers in the world and is a vital part of the team’s spine that Slot will certainly be hoping can give him the success they were able to achieve under Klopp.
