Liverpool representatives are ready to travel to the Netherlands to hold direct talks with those close to midfield target Ryan Gravenberch, reports have claimed.

Gravenberch has become a seemingly gettable midfield target for Liverpool after struggling to nail down a starting place since his summer move from Ajax to Bayern Munich. Liverpool, of course, are on the lookout for more reliable replacements for the likes of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo.

Because of his situation at Bayern Munich, there is a feeling that Gravenberch might become available in the summer. In turn, Liverpool have been stepping up their interest in the Dutch talent.

According to an update from Bild, a Liverpool delegation has been pushing for talks with Gravenberch’s representatives.

Indeed, officials from the Premier League club are ready to head out to the Netherlands to hold talks ‘on site’ with the player’s camp.

From those discussions, they will be aiming to convince Gravenberch’s advisors that a move to Liverpool could be good for his career.

However, that will just be one phase of their transfer process. In order to prise the 20-year-old away from Bayern Munich, Liverpool must negotiate with the Bundesliga club, which hasn’t happened yet.

And when the time comes for those talks, Liverpool might struggle to get their way. After all, Bayern retain faith in Gravenberch for the long term, having handed him a contract until 2027 upon his arrival last July.

The fact that he remains stranded on a single Bundesliga start so far might be concerning. But in time, figures at the German club believe Gravenberch’s prominence can grow.

Previously, he made 103 appearances for Ajax in his native Netherlands. During his time there, he scored 12 goals and assisted 13 more.

Liverpool need a good version of Gravenberch

If he can recapture that kind of form, Gravenberch might be an ideal solution to provide new energy in the Liverpool midfield.

Jurgen Klopp will be on the hunt for multiple reinforcements in the middle of the park for Liverpool. Hence, the club ought to be keeping their options open and doing as much research as possible on who would be the best fit for them.

Gravenberch will be one of the main names to keep an eye on after Liverpool ended their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham.

However, there could also be strong competition for the newer target. Man Utd have also been tipped to sign Gravenberch, whom they would be reuniting with Erik ten Hag.

Hence, Liverpool will have to ensure they remain as close to the front of the queue for Gravenberch as possible. Even then, Bayern could stand in their way of a deal.

Yet Liverpool seem to be leaving no stone unturned as they try and get their hands on a player who remains a coveted talent.
