Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has been tipped to be the "breakout star" of the Premier League this season having made an electric start to life under Arne Slot.

Colombia ace Diaz has already scored five goals in the top flight this year including getting a brace against Bournemouth last time out. He needs just three more goals to equal his Premier League tally from the whole of Jurgen Klopp's final campaign at the club.

"If I had to pick one player who will be the breakout star in the Premier League this season, then I have to pick Luis Diaz," former Manchester United and Everton striker Louis Saha has told Crypto Casinos UK. "He has really stood out for me in terms of his power, his commitment and his desire. I love his aggression without the ball.

"He’s always looking for an opportunity to hurt his opponent. We know that he’s a great finisher. We know that he can create. I’m astonished by what he has brought to Liverpool in the first five games of the season. The guy looks completely unplayable at the moment that’s how highly I rate him."

"We train with them on a daily basis, how best to position themselves but there has been nothing specific with Luis," Slot said of Diaz during his press conference earlier today. "It is mainly in the last third, down to the player's finishing ability.

"I think he always had that ability to score goals. I wasn't aware he scored eight goals last season. For someone of his quality, that is not up to the standard. He has come back to his normal level. Maybe he was unlucky last year?"

Liverpool.com says: Diaz has been brilliant so far this season. If he keeps finding the back of the net as regularly as he has up to now under Slot, the Reds will have found a new nailed-on starter down the left side no matter how well Cody Gakpo is doing.
