Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will have a point to prove when he lines up for the Republic of Ireland against England at Wembley on Sunday.

The 25-year-old has stepped up for the Reds in recent weeks in the absence of Alisson, who picked up a hamstring injury in the Premier League victory against Crystal Palace back in October. The Brazilian is expected to regain his place in Arne Slot's side when fully fit, which could be as soon as next weekend's trip to Southampton.

Last season, Kelleher made 26 appearances across all competitions when Alisson was once again sidelined through injury. He has consistently proved he is a capable deputy, and is arguably deserving of a regular starting place with his contributions in the 2022 and 2024 Carabao Cup finals at Wembley playing a pivotal role in the famous victories over Chelsea.

However, given Liverpool's depth between the sticks, which is set to strengthen even further next summer with the arrival of Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili, Kelleher's future at Anfield is uncertain. Despite links with a move away over the summer, the goalkeeper opted to stay put for another season, which is a decision that has seemingly paid off following his recent run in the team - but what next?

The Liverpool Echo are asking supporters to share their views on Kelleher's future and whether Alisson's imminent return should demote him back to the bench, if Mamardashvili's arrival in 2025 should prompt him to leave, and how much he would be worth if he does decide to pursue regular first team football elsewhere.
