Liverpool have been handed an injury scare after Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced off midway through the first half. It's unclear at this stage what the defender's issue is.

Alexander-Arnold went down and was replaced by Bradley after 25 minutes with the Reds leading 1-0 thanks to Darwin Nunez's opener. Arne Slot will be poised to offer an update after the game but the right-back might now be a doubt for England's upcoming fixtures with Ireland and Greece.

Alexander-Arnold will be assessed by the medical staff at Liverpool before a decision is made on if he can join up with the Three Lions for the Nations League matches ahead of a critically important end to the calendar year for the Premier League and Champions League leaders.

The Reds currently have Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker all sidelined and may yet be forced to add Alexander-Arnold to that list of absentees.

Slot's team took the lead in the game when Mohamed Salah was brought down on a counter-attack by Leon Bailey only for Nunez to carry on with the ball before rounding Emi Martinez and finishing it off.

Having seen Manchester City beaten at Brighton in the 5:30pm kick-off, the Reds have the chance to go five points clear at the summit against Villa before the break in play for the international fixtures.
