Liverpool supporters all say same thing about Erik ten Hag sacking as Diogo Dalot theory emerges
Liverpool supporters have responded with dismay after Erik ten Hag was sacked by Manchester United on Monday. The Dutchman leaves his role after just over two and a half years in charge of the Red Devils and with the team in dire form.
United have won just three Premier League matches so far this season, losing 2-1 to West Ham on Sunday after a controversial late penalty from Jarrod Bowen. They have already lost four league games this term, including a 3-0 reverse to Liverpool at Old Trafford in Arne Slot's third fixture in charge of the Reds.
They have also struggled in the Europa League, remaining winless in their opening three group stage matches.

And with United 14th in the Premier League table, Liverpool fans responding on social media were sad to see the former Ajax boss leave Old Trafford, with Ruud van Nistlerooy his replacement in the dugout on an interim basis.
Posts included "it was great while it lasted," "never forgotten" and simply "noooo".
Others were quick to point out Ten Hag's declaration that "eras come to an end" after taking over the club in 2022. The Dutchman had said: " I admire both, Man City and Liverpool. They play fantastic football. But eras come to an end."
Ten Hag did initially guide United back into the Champions League and won both the FA Cup and League Cup during his time in charge, but his side were dismantled by Slot's team in September and also had a 7-0 defeat to the Reds at Anfield in March 2023 on their record.
Meanwhile, some supporters even theorised that Diogo Dalot's glaring miss in the defeat to West Ham was similar to that of Steven Gerrard against Blackburn Rovers in January 2011 that signalled the end of Roy Hodgson's reign as Liverpool manager.
Dalot rounded West Ham goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski in the first half before somehow putting his shot wide of the goal. It was one of a number of chances missed by United before the Hammers' Cyrile Summerville scored the opening goal and essentially helped lead to Ten Hag's sacking the very next day.
Gerrard, meanwhile, managed to steer his penalty kick over the bar as Liverpool chased the game at Ewood Park 13 years ago. The Reds legend had already scored but his failure to convert the spotkick saw Liverpool lose the match and Hodgson sacked soon after, replaced by Sir Kenny Dalglish as manager.
Many have joked that Gerrard did it on purpose to quicken the end of Hodgson's reign and the same is now being said about Dalot.
