Liverpool is braced for a busy summer as Arne Slot gets down to work at Anfield. The Dutchman has officially been confirmed as Jürgen Klopp's replacement and will work with new sporting director Richard Hughes on transfer dealings.

The Reds are being tipped to move for a new defender following Joël Matip but the valuation of one target is likely to raise a few eyebrows at Anfield. There are likely to be outgoings too and one back-up option has reportedly set his sights on a summer exit. Here's your round-up of the latest Liverpool news.

António Silva asking price emerges?

Liverpool faces having to pay a huge sum if it is to win the race for Benfica defender António Silva this summer. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a fine campaign and will be part of the Portugal squad at the European Championships.

His form has attracted interest from a host of top clubs across Europe, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly emerging as the 'main candidates' to sign him.

But according to Fichajes, any deal for Silva is going to be an expensive one. It is claimed the defender has a release clause of $108m (£85m/€100m) and Benfica has no plans to entertain talks over a knockdown price.

Liverpool is expected to seek at least one defensive reinforcement this summer. Joël Matip's exit has been confirmed after his contract expired and new boss Arne Slot is likely to want to replace him when the transfer window opens.

Caoimhín Kelleher plots summer transfer?

Liverpool could step up plans to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, with Caoimhín Kelleher reportedly eyeing a summer exit. The Republic of Ireland international enjoyed his longest run in the team earlier in the season after Alisson suffered an injury.

But his return to fitness saw Kelleher drop back down to the bench and he is likely to remain No.2 under Arne Slot. He is now seeking an opportunity to become first-choice elsewhere this summer, reports Football Insider.

Nottingham Forest tried to sign the 25-year-old in January but Liverpool refused to let him go, while Celtic remains an admirer. It is claimed Liverpool would demand at least $25m (£20m/€24m) to let him go.

Liverpool is already being linked with Feyenoord stopper Justin Bijlow as a potential replacement but The Telegraph claims Arsenal is also interested.
