Liverpool is interested in signing Feyenoord's Quinten Timber, brother of Arsenal star Jurrien, as the Reds continue to consider potential midfield signings.

The Reds have overhauled their midfield in recent years, with several senior players departing and being replaced by fresh blood, but they missed out on principal target Martin Zubimendi during the summer window as he opted to stay at Real Sociedad.

Ryan Gravenberch has performed brilliantly in the No.6 role that was earmarked for Zubimendi, but Arne Slot is still light on midfield options and would like one or two more bodies to choose from in the engine room.

Slot managed Timber at Feyenoord and it is reported by TEAMtalk that the 22-year-old's ability to play in a variety of midfield roles is what makes him an appealing proposition to the Reds.

It is claimed that Liverpool could move for Timber as early as January, but that it is more likely that the Reds will wait until next summer, when Timber will enter the final 12 months of his current Feyenoord contract.

Meanwhile, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Trent Alexander-Arnold is prioritising staying at Liverpool amid reported interest from Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold has just over nine months remaining on his current contract at Anfield and will be allowed to enter transfer talks with foreign clubs from January.

However, Romano said on his Daily Briefing: “The priority for Trent is Liverpool. Trent will keep discussing things with Liverpool about the project, about the idea they have and about what they want to do at the club for the next years.”
