Marc Guehi is reported to have told friends that he would "love" to join Liverpool after staying put at Crystal Palace in the summer.

Guehi's excellent performances for England at the European Championship led to speculation that he might leave Selhurst Park for one of the Premier League's top clubs.

However, a move away did not come to fruition for Guehi, with Palace under little pressure to sell the center-back after offloading Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.

Guehi was linked with a move to Newcastle as well as Liverpool, but a new report by Football Insider said that he wants to join a bigger club than the Magpies, and that a move to Anfield is hugely appealing.

The report says Guehi "would jump" at the chance to join Liverpool, and that Arne Slot, who was said to not be convinced by Guehi prior to the season starting, has now been won over by the Palace skipper and views him as a possible successor to Virgil van Dijk.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold's preference is to stay at Liverpool, according to another report by Football Insider. The defender's current deal at Anfield expires at the end of June, and Real Madrid has been linked with the right-back.

Alexander-Arnold reiterated last weekend that he doesn't want talks about his future played out in public, but the report by Football Insider said that he is 'more than happy' to remain with the Reds.

Speaking about his future a few days ago, Alexander-Arnold said: “The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest. I want to win trophies, I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor of anything, if you have a personality that is elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win then that is what drives me."
