Just hours after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title, Liverpool confirmed their summer transfer plans would start with the signing of Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho. The 19-year-old almost made the switch to Anfield in January, but remained to help the Cottagers gain promotion from the Championship back into the Premier League.
Carvalho played 36 games for Marco Silva's side and impressed throughout the campaign, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists as Fulham won the title.
The Fulham academy graduate has made only 44 first-team appearances for the Cottagers, but he's shown enough to persuade Jurgen Klopp that he could have a future at Anfield.
An initial fee of £5million has been agreed, with a further £2.7million in possible add-ons, for Carvalho, who will officially join Liverpool on July 1 when his Fulham contract expires.

Carvalho played for England Under-18s, but now represents Portugal at Under-21 level having been born there - he did not move to England until 2013.
Carvalho is a top talent
Fulham boss Silva recently lavished praise on the teenager, who he believes will become a big star. "I think he has a brilliant career in front of him," said Silva. "He is a top top talent in my opinion. "There were many clubs around him, a lot of rumours around him, and it was really tough for us to renew his contract.
"The fans and the team have given me so much."

"It is not normal for a boy of 19 years old, from the first two months of the season, to have a lot of rumours around him from clubs around Europe. "He never lost the focus, he let other people take care of it, and he really helped our football club to get promotion, to be champions. "For a boy of 19 it is a fantastic sign and I believe that he has all the qualities to perform at a high level and to keep improving."
