Liverpool has already been linked with numerous players in a variety of positions this summer with Crysensio Summerville and Johan Bakayoko just two of the names suggested as signings in forward areas for Arne Slot.

But Liverpool has 'no interest' in signing 19-year-old Newcastle United forward Yankuba Minteh this summer, according to the Liverpool ECHO. The player has been linked with a transfer move to the Reds and he did appear to tick a few boxes.

Minteh scored 10 goals last season while playing for Slot's Feyenoord. Newcastle, while it does not want to lose the highly-rated young player, might have to cash in because of concerns over FFP/PSR, The Telegraph had reported.

While a forward could be on the agenda for new Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and the rest of the transfer team, the Gambian is not someone on the agenda at the moment, the report states. And there will be plenty more rumors involving various stars over the course of the next few weeks.

Liverpool's players will return for pre-season training in a little under a month but several big names will have to wait until they can meet Slot in person for the first time. That is because the European Championship in Germany and the Copa America in the US will still have a fortnight or so to go for the nations remaining in the competitions at that point.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister will have high hopes of going a long way in the tournament and will have to take a break and have a holiday after they are eliminated. Other players like Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah will be in pre-season from day one but the group will slowly swell as others return from their summer exertions.

That could also have a transfer impact too, in that several high-profile players will soon be away with their national teams. Bringing in targets who have other things to focus on this summer will add another layer of complication.

Liverpool.com says: It will be interesting to see which forward player Liverpool goes for this summer if it isn't Minteh. He seemed to tick a lot of boxes and is a really exciting attacking talent. Newcastle will have no shortage of interested suitors in the player who is already putting up some exceptional numbers in the final third despite him only being a teenager.
