Liverpool host Everton in the 234th Merseyside derby but the current fortunes of the two clubs could hardly be more contrasting.

Jurgen Klopp's side are in irrepressible form, having won all but one of their Premier League fixtures this season, and are already eight points clear at the top of the table.

Everton, however, are in a state of turmoil with Marco Silva's sacking now considered to be inevitable.

Despite significant investment over the summer, the Toffees have won just four of their 14 matches this season and sit just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Prediction

Liverpool may be without the likes of Alisson and Fabinho for this clash, but there’s no doubting the gulf in quality that separates these two teams. The European champions are glowing with confidence and self-belief, even if they’ve secured a few recent wins by the skin of their teeth. Everton, however, are stuck in a rut – and certainly don’t look placed to stop their long-term rivals in their tracks. This should be a walkover for Klopp’s team. Liverpool 3-1 Everton

Odds

Liverpool to win: 2/5

Everton to win: 8/1

Draw: 9/2
