Liverpool hope to welcome back Joel Matip after four games out injured as Burnley visit in the Premier League.

The centre-back pairing for Fabinho and Jordan Henderson has struggled in recent games, and Matip's potential return is a big boost for Jurgen Klopp.

"Joel is in full training," Klopp told reporters on Wednesday.

"Now we have to make a decision and we will see how that will be until tomorrow. Yesterday he trained completely normal."

Matip's return will allow Henderson to return to midfield, meaning Xherdan Shaqiri should drop out. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another option in the centre.

Up front, Diogo Jota could be out for the rest of January, with Klopp adding: "Diogo is still a few weeks away, will not be the next one or two. He needs time."

In his absence, the usual front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino should continue.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Naby Keita and Kostas Tsimikas remain out.

Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Thiago, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
