Liverpool XI vs Crystal Palace: Starting lineup, team news, injury and Covid latest for Premier League

Liverpool defender Joel Matip is fit to start against Crystal Palace despite being forced off during the Carabao Cup semi-final win against Arsenal on Thursday.

Matip was replaced by Ibrahima Konate as a precaution at half-time in the 2-0 victory at Emirates Stadium, but he has recovered to partner Virgil van Dijk.

Fabinho is also fit, after he received what Jurgen Klopp described as a “proper knock” in the tackle that saw Thomas Partey sent off for Arsenal, and starts in midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain missed the Arsenal game with an ankle problem, but he too has shaken off any concerns and starts in the front-three for Liverpool, as they try to close the gap to Man City to nine points.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are still away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Harvey Elliott returned to first-team training this week for the first time since the ankle ligament injury he suffered at Leeds last September. He could return early next month.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino, Jota.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Milner, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, Williams, Morton
