Liverpool XI vs Everton: Confirmed team news, starting lineup, injury latest for derby today
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is on the bench for this evening’s Merseyside derby against Everton.
Keita has been sidelined since December and Jurgen Klopp opted not to risk him for the Champions League clash with the midfielder’s former club RB Leipzig.
“Naby is no longer injured but he’s not fit yet,” the German explained ahead of that tie. “Of course, Naby would have liked to be there when it’s against Leipzig,” the German said.
“He has had some very great spells but obviously you have to say he has had too many injuries as well, which hasn’t helped a lot.”
Fabinho and James Milner miss out again, with Liverpool unchanged from their 2-0 Champions League last-16 first-leg victory over RB Leipzig in midweek.
For Everton, James Rodriguez, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman all come in, while top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit enough for the bench after injury.
