Liverpool are facing plenty of Covid-related disruption as they take on Tottenham in the Premier League this afternoon.

Thiago Alcantara is ruled out after testing positive and Jordan Henderson has been sent home after developing cold symptoms, but had not tested positive for Covid.

Add their absences to those of Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones, who all missed Thursday’s 3-1 win over Newcastle at Anfield after testing positive and are therefore unavailable.

Despite the Covid cases in his squad, Klopp insisted Liverpool want the Spurs game to go ahead.

Klopp said: “We do not think we should not play on Sunday.

“I say that now. In two hours, if we have six, seven, eight more cases or whatever then of course we cannot play, but in a situation like we are now we can play and we would like to play.”

Liverpool starting XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Morton, Milner, Keita; Salah, Mane, Jota
