Arne Slot’s tenure at Liverpool has begun positively with the Reds sitting on the shoulders of Premier League champions Manchester City.

Despite a promising start, the Dutchman is already keeping tabs on a number of potential incomings to bolster his Reds squad and potentially lead them to some silverware later this season. A quiet summer of incomings at Anfield saw Federico Chiesa the only signing to arrive, with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili’s entrance not until the start of next season.

The rumors swirling around Liverpool today have seen the Reds linked with players operating in completely contrasting positions, possibly nodding to Slot wanting to stamp his mark on this Liverpool team.

Quinten Timber

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move to sign midfielder Quinten Timber, which would see Slot link back up with the Feyenoord star. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds could make a swoop for the 23-year-old in January as Slot looks to bolster his midfield after missing out on Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi in the summer.

Slot knows the Netherlands international well and Timber is no stranger to Liverpool it seems with him previously linked with a move to Anfield a few times before. The marauding midfielder is the twin brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber.

Marc Guehi

The Reds' search for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, and short-term partner for the legendary Dutchman could lead them to Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guehi. The England international was priced out of a move in the summer but the Eagles are reportedly set to slash their valuation.

Guehi was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United, but the Magpies refused to match Palace’s £70million valuation. However, according to Football Insider, Guehi could be available for between £40m-£50m next summer. Guehi is set to enter the last year of his Palace deal next season, potentially forcing them to cash in on their captain.

Karim Adeyemi

Possibly the most exciting name on the list, the Borussia Dortmund forward is one of a number of wingers linked with a move to Anfield. Mohamed Salah’s unresolved contract situation, which is set to make him a free agent in the summer, could see the club make an early move to cover his potential exit.

According to TEAMtalk, Karim Adeyemi is a player who the Reds are looking at. The lightning-fast Germany international is said to be valued at around $50m (£38m/€45m), offering great value for a player at only 22 with bags of experience. Able to operate all across the front line, Adeyemi has 143 goal contributions in 239 games so far in his career.
