The Pride of Benue are currently placed ninth in the topflight table, seven points adrift of leaders, Plateau United.
Despite aiming to qualify for next season's continental club competition, Akleche insists that there is enough talent in the squad to mount a serious title challenge.
"Our expectations are high. There's no hiding at the start of the season. Our aim was to be in the top three. That hasn't changed," Akleche told Goal.
"But we aim high and we believe that we have got the squad - and the quality in the dressing room - to go all the way.
"We have the materials to make things happen in the second round of the league season. That is what we have planned and for sure it will be a reality.
"Lobi Stars belong to the continent and we have what it takes to accomplish the task at hand," he concluded.
