Nordic Combined - Lodwick victorious at Sochi Grand Prix

Todd Lodwick won the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix after victory in the ski-jumping event saw him overtake Bernhard Gruber at the top of the overall standings.

The 35-year-old American trailed his Austrian counterpart by 0.4 seconds after day one in Sochi, but recorded a 106.3 to the Olympic bronze medallist's 113.5 on the jump to finish top of the pile with 19:39.7.

Tomaz Harp took third place, some 47.3 seconds behind his compatriot Gruber in second, with Japanese duo Akito Watabe and Yusuke Minato rounding out the top five.

Cristoph Bieler of Austria and Johnny Spill finished sixth and seventh respectively, ahead of Hideaki Nagai and Akito's brother Yoshito Watabe. Taylor Fletcher of the United States came in 10th.
