Logistics and haulage company buys out pallet firm for undisclosed sum
An East Lancs logistics and haulage company has bought out a pallet firm for an undisclosed sum.
Law firm Davis Blank Furniss acted for Burnley-headquartered EFS Global Ltd on the acquisition of ILS Holdings Ltd and its subsidiaries Sussex Pallet Services Ltd and Independent Logistic Solutions Limited, which is a leading East Sussex-based freight transport collection and delivery service firm that operates throughout Europe.
The deal saw EFS Global acquire ILS Holdings Ltd’s entire issued share capital, taking on it’s current workforce of more than 40 people.
ILS Holdings Ltd serves a broad range of sectors, and can handle full loads, part loads and single pallets. It also offers general haulage and storage services.
Following the acquisition, EFS Global plans to implement a ‘business as usual’ approach with a strategy of building on what has already been achieved by ILS’ management team over the past few years.
The transaction is EFS Global’s 23rd acquisition since 2015. It further consolidates the group’s position in the South East region after it purchased sister companies Eminence Transport Ltd and Floryn Ltd last year which are located Kent.
EFS Global now has 35 depots and offices across England and Scotland.
Jordan Kellett, group strategy director at EFS Global who led on the deal, said: “We are thrilled to have ILS & Sussex Pallet Services join our ever-growing group – especially as they share our core value of always offering a high-quality service to customers.
“Their location will help to extend our Southern presence from Kent into East Sussex which will be a fantastic foundation for future planned growth.”
The team at Davis Blank Furniss, which was led by Sonio Singh - partner and head of corporate - advised on all elements of the deal including legal due diligence and transactional matters.
It also included Lauren Sever, corporate and commercial senior associate, and Shiva Shadi, partner, who advised on employment matters.
Sonio Singh added: “We were delighted to once again support EFS Global and I’m confident this new acquisition will add real value and geographical benefit as it continues to grow its reach and network around the country.”
